Blockchain to Lead in Payments and Asset Tokenization

Almost 23% of Digital Currency Group (DCG)’s portfolio firms believe that asset tokenization will be the next major use case for blockchain. To prepare the survey, DCG received responses from more than 60 of its portfolio companies.  According to DCG’s 2019 annual survey, 22.73% of its portfolio companies suggest that blockchain will be mainly deployed in asset tokenization, while 30% of respondents see the technology’s future use cases in payments. Overstock Subsidiary and Tokenization Firm tZERO Announces New Management

The blockchain-based subsidiary of retail giant Overstock,  tZERO, has appointed three new managers. The company announced the new hires in a press release on July 17. According to the announcement, new appointees Brooke Navarro, Michael Mougias and Alexandra Sotiropoulos have been official managers since July 15. TZero states that these new executives are the firms head of issuance, head of investor relations and head of communications, respectively. Tokenization Software Firm AlphaPoint Rehauls Management

Tokenization software firm AlphaPoint rehauled its management, financial news outlet Finextra reports on June 3. Per the report, the current chief technology officer of the company, Joe Ventura, will become the chief information officer, while global head of trading Kapil Rathi will be the new chief operating officer. Both will be reporting to Igor Telyatnikov, the former president who has now been newly appointed as the CEO. Wyoming Introduces Bill Permitting Tokenization of Stocks

A bill allowing corporations to issue blockchain-based tokens that represent stocks was introduced in Wyoming on Jan. 16, according to the official state legislature site.
